Instead of a 15.6" 1920x1080 display like many other ASUS N53 models have, it has a 15.6" 1366x768 display.ġ5.6" 1366x768 displays limit multitasking and productivity by making things onscreen large, and they usually have very poor image quality (contrast). Pros: Aside from the rather poor display, the performance is decent for someone who wants a mid-range gaming-capable laptop.Ĭons: The biggest issue with this laptop is the display. This is NOT a gaming laptop, it will run games but do not expect high performance for graphic intensive games. I got exactly what I expected.įor those of you looking for a gaming laptop, expect medium settings for a game like Guild Wars 2 and high-max for Diablo 3. That was my only issue, everything else with this laptop is works very well. The freezing I think is just a BIOS problem, upgrading everything seemed to fix that problem. You really can't find something better than this for $830 (I see price went up). My last con is that the power input is on the back right hand side, which is annoying.

Lots of bloatware too, took a while to delete them. You want to multitask? Go buy a desktop and get a bigger screen and have a video card that can support a ridiculous resolution. Maybe because I'm a student and not some hardcore multitasking freak, but I don't understand what the complaints about the 1366x768 resolution are all about. Although I will not lie, that first week of it freezing was very aggravating and I considering returning it.

I did some system/windows upgrading and it eventually went away.
